Core Programme

At Scrubditch Care Farm, our core programme provides adults with additional needs a supportive environment to grow and thrive.

Sessions run daily, except Tuesdays, from 10am to 3pm, offering structured, engaging activities designed to promote learning, development, and wellbeing.

Participants take part in a variety of meaningful farm-based activities, including:

  • Animal Care: Developing responsibility and connection through hands-on interaction with our animals.
  • Horticulture: Learning gardening skills while growing fruits and vegetables, promoting healthy living and appreciation for fresh food.
  • Farm Maintenance: Gaining practical skills by helping maintain farm infrastructure.
  • Woodland Walks: Exploring the countryside to encourage physical activity, sensory engagement, and relaxation.
  • Cookery Studio: Preparing and enjoying meals made from farm-harvested produce while learning valuable culinary skills.

These activities help build confidence, foster social connections, and provide a sense of purpose. Our goal is to create an inclusive community where everyone can flourish and lead fulfilling lives.

Feel Good Farming - Farming for Wellbeing Sessions

Farming for Wellbeing

Our Farming for Wellbeing programme at Scrubditch Care Farm provides a supportive and inclusive space for individuals with dementia and their carers or spouses.

Held every Tuesday from 10am to 12pm, the sessions offer participants the chance to engage in meaningful activities, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with others in a warm and understanding environment.

This programme serves as both a source of enjoyment and a vital support network for those living with dementia and their loved ones.

Volunteering

Want to do something challenging and rewarding? Then volunteering at Scrubditch Care Farm could be for you!

We are always excited to welcome new volunteers, particularly those with experience in working with vulnerable adults and young people, farming, animal care, woodwork, or horticulture. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, including working with students, gardening, and participating in awareness events. Regular training sessions are available to support our volunteers.

Please note that the volunteer role is physically demanding, as it involves farm work. It is mainly outdoors, often in cold and wet conditions, and requires being on your feet for most of the day. However, it is also incredibly rewarding, enjoyable, and fun!

All volunteers working with students must undergo an enhanced DBS check. If you’re interested in joining us, please contact us to discuss our available positions.
